The Dataroom is Launchboard’s document hub — a secure storage layer and AI extraction engine that turns your legal agreements into structured cap table data. Every stakeholder, security, and share class in your cap table is grounded in a source document, and the Dataroom is where that connection lives.Documentation Index

What you can store
The Dataroom accepts PDFs and supports automatic classification and field extraction for the following document types:| Document type | What gets extracted |
|---|---|
| SAFE | Investor name, investment amount, valuation cap, discount rate, MFN clause |
| Incorporation docs / Charter | Company name, authorized shares, par value, jurisdiction |
| Board Consent | Authorized action, signatories, date |
| Stock Option Agreement | Grantee, shares, exercise price, vesting schedule |
The document pipeline
Every document you upload moves through a five-stage pipeline before its data lands in your cap table:| Stage | What happens |
|---|---|
| Upload | PDF is stored securely in the Dataroom |
| Classify | AI identifies the document type |
| Extract | AI pulls structured cap table fields from the document |
| Review | You verify the extracted data in the Inspector panel |
| Merge | Verified data creates cap table records linked to the source document |
Why documents are the source of truth
Launchboard treats documents as the authoritative input for your cap table. When you merge a document, the resulting cap table entries — stakeholders, securities, share classes — carry a permanent link back to the document they came from. This gives you a bi-directional audit trail: you can trace any cap table entry to its source agreement, and any document to the cap table records it produced.Document status badges
Each document in the Dataroom displays a status badge that tells you exactly where it is in the pipeline:| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
DRAFT | Uploaded and awaiting AI processing |
PARSED | AI extraction complete — ready for your review |
REVIEWED | You have verified the extracted data |
PENDING_SIGNATURE | A signature request has been sent |
PARTIALLY_SIGNED | Some signers have completed, others have not |
SIGNED | All signers have completed — document is sealed |
APPLIED | Document data has been merged into the cap table |
